About This Blog

The information in these articles comes from my reading and studying of hundreds of books and articles on the subject, including scholarly and academic texts such as Handbook of Nutrition and Food, Handbook of Eating Disorders, Sports and Exercise Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, and Exercise Metabolism.

My motivation to learn about this subject was driven by a desire to have the best personal health possible and to help members in my own family improve their health. My hope for this site is to provide the necessary information people need to make positive changes relating to their health and body. Obesity is the number one controllable disease in our society and in the majority of cases it doesn’t require drugs or surgery to remedy. It only takes accurate information on dieting and exercising and a basic understanding of behavior to become successful at weight loss.
