Diet and Flat Abs
We all would love to have flat abs, so we exercise and exercise in hopes of one day looking like a pin-up model for a health magazine. Yet, despite your hard work, the flab still dominates your portly mid-section. What is the deal with this?
In a word, diet.
You can perform ab exercises everyday of the week, but unless you get your diet under control, you will never reap the rewards of your hard work.
First of all, don’t feel disappointed if this tidbit of information has escaped you. With all the exercise equipment that marketers claim can give you beautiful looking abs, it is not surprising that you would think that all you need to do is exercise. Once you finally get pass that myth, you can then really get down to the business of getting flat abs.
Flat Abs Diet
There are no tricks that you need to follow while on a flat abs diet. All that is required of you is to eat certain foods, while cutting back on others, and of course a little patience for the process to take effect.
As for the foods you need to start eating, the most important are foods that are high in fiber. This is because most of your calories come from carbohydrates, so you need to eat carbs that will enhance the fat burning process. Fiber does this by causing your body to work harder at digesting your food.
I won’t go through the whole process of how it does that, but suffice it to say, the more fiber you get in your diet, the faster you will start to lose weight and start seeing your abs.
Since many foods have fiber in them, it’s easier to tell you what not to eat. If you simply make a habit of staying away from process foods, or at least vastly cutting back on them in your diet, the carbohydrates that will be left for you to eat will most likely have fiber in them, which are, if you haven’t guessed by now, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
As for your protein, stick with lean meats. Poultry and fish are the best, since you can find items that are almost fat free. But if you have a love for beef, pick the leanest you can find. But be advised. Even the leanest cuts can have significant fat.
As for fats, stick with oils that are heart friendly such as olive and canola oil. Just remember to keep the fat intake around 20 to no more than 30 percent of your diet. Your aim is to lose fat, not add it on.
That’s it. If you follow this simple advice for a flat abs diet, you will soon start to see real results from your efforts, which is of course the outcome you were looking for all along.
