Easy To Remember Weight Loss Meal Tips

Measuring food portions to count calories for your weight loss meals can be time consuming and tedious. Plus, besides not having the time, carrying around a scale with you everywhere you go is just not an option.

To make sticking to your meal plan simpler, here are some easy to remember meal planning and eating tips.

Eat three types of food for each meal

When you are choosing what to put on your plate, make sure you select at least three different types of foods. These types should include a lean protein and two types of carbohydrate, such as green beans and long grain rice.

In fact, the more you vary your foods, the more variety of vitamins and minerals you will include in your diet.

Eat food in their natural state

Foods in their natural state contain more nutrients than process foods. This is especially true for carbohydrates. The reason for this is fiber is typically stripped from them to increase shelf life.

To get foods full health benefits, choose foods that are in their natural state such as whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Choose water instead of a sweet beverages

Sugary drinks have a strong link to excess weight gain. By choosing water over these sweet beverages, you can cut out a significant amount of calories from your diet and avoid unnecessary inches around your waist.

Chew longer

Research has shown that overweight individuals tend to chew their food fewer times before they swallow. This allows them to eat more before filling full. By making a conscious effort to chew longer you stimulate your satiety faster, which helps you to eat less and consume fewer calories.

Think food portion serving size

In a world of super gulp sodas, it is easy to forget the importance of food portion serving sizes. When eating, remind yourself to only consume a serving size of the food source.

And even though you may not always ingest just a serving of the food, the more you keep this idea in mind, the more likely it will become a habit.
