Medicine Ball Set – Putting a Bit of Fun in Exercising

Fitness has become a large part of many people’s lives and being able to keep fit at home is an option for just about anyone. Going to the gym to stay in shape isn’t always necessary, especially when a medicine set is available for home use. These are amazing pieces of equipment and come in weights to suite all fitness levels. You don’t have to be a massively strong person to use these and they are beneficial for many muscle groups as well.

These medicine are great for building core strength, increasing coordination, becoming more balanced, and raising your endurance level. The outer covering on these balls is textured, which provides a better grip than the smooth versions offered by some sports equipment companies. Most people hold onto the medicine ball when exercising or play a game of catch with a friend, but these are also created in such a way that they will bounce off of hard surfaces.

The various weights coincide with different levels of fitness. Beginners should start with medicine balls weighing between 2 to 6 pounds, people at an intermediate level can use the 8 to 10 pound ball, and the 12 pound balls are excellent for people at an advanced level.

Each of these different sizes are color coded, making them easy to spot, instead of having to read the weight number listed on the outer surface. The lighter balls are perfect for one-handed exercises.

There are racks that can be purchased for holding an entire set of medicine balls, if you wish to purchase them many at once. A price break is also available, making it cheaper to get the whole set at once. One type of rack will hold five medicine balls and the other will hold ten.

This second type of rack is popular with fitness centers, since there are often many people using these at one time. A total of six medicine balls come in a complete set, providing a large variety for different training exercises.

An even greater bonus is to purchase the rack and a medicine ball set all together. This set doesn’t come with the 12 pound medicine ball, but most people find that they use the other sizes more often than this one. It is always easy to purchase a 12 pound ball later if you would like to add it to your collection. These are not only great pieces of equipment to exercise with, but they are fun as well. Even teenagers will have fun working out with these weighted fitness balls.
