Frustrated With Weight Loss

If you have become frustrated with your weight loss program, you are not alone. Many others have experienced the same exasperation. Typically what happens is that you have reached the dreaded diet’s plateau. This is when your efforts to lose weight do not produce any results.

As such, there are a host of reasons that cause this to happen, all of which you can overcome. To identify yours, the following are some common circumstances that may be preventing you from continuing to lose weight. Once you determine your stumbling block or blocks and made the necessary adjustments, you’ll be back to shrinking your waist in no time flat.

Eating more food than you think

One of the reasons that dieters can’t continue to lose weight is because they are eating more food than they think. That coffee that you mixed with sugar and cream, or those soft drinks that you drunk during the day counts towards your calories.

To make sure you get an accurate accounting of your calorie intake each day, make sure to include these and all things that you put in your mouth. This is the only way that you will be sure that you are not eating too much food.

Eating the same types of food

Eating the same foods day after day is a prescription for your body becoming immune to losing more weight. Instead surprise it by having salmon instead of chicken, or soup instead of a salad. By varying the types of foods you eat, you never give your body a chance to adjust to what you eat.

Eating to few calories

Eating too few calories is almost as bad as eating too many calories. In fact this practice is a recipe for slowing down your metabolism and bringing weight loss to a screeching halt.

To insure that this doesn’t happen to you, make sure that your are at least getting enough calories to satisfy your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).

Not exercising

Physical exertion is just as vital to your well-being as is the foods you eat. So whatever excuse that you give yourself to get out of exercising, you need to get over it. Your body was not designed to be glued to a chair all day.

So even if you can only start taking a few steps at a time, do that and build from there. Once you get in the habit of exercising, the more easier it will become.

Not changing up your exercise routine

If your exercise routine consists of doing the same thing day in and day out, then you definitely need to change it up. Just like your body can become accustomed to eating the same amount of food, it can also become use to the same types of exercises.

Even if you want to continue to jog or lift weights, you at least need to change the intensity at which you perform these activities. Try pushing yourself more during the activity. Every ounce of added effort translates into more calories being burned.
