Weight Loss Tips to Help Lose Unsightly Belly Fat

Every weight loss program should have specific guidelines such as a realistic diet plan, cardiovascular exercises and the right attitude about body image. Both women and men can accumulate stubborn belly fat that is hard to lose without following some tried and true rules. Listed below are some tips that will help you stick to your weight loss plan and help you stick to your goal of losing unsightly belly fat.

You are what you eat

Don’t skip any meals. Depriving your body of food throws it into panic mode, lowers your metabolism and reacts in ways to protect itself. Your body will hold onto the layers of belly fat, bracing for starvation. In fact, try to eat 5-6 small meals through out the day, as well as a healthy snack, to create a steady flow of nutrients and provide the needed energy your body craves.

Eat slowly and take smaller bites, while chewing completely before taking another. Studies have shown it takes a total of 20 minutes for the brain to realize it is full after you have begun eating. Spicy foods help to speed up metabolism. Egg whites are healthier, containing lecithin to aid in reduction of high cholesterol levels, and protein to increase metabolism.

Plan your meal menu before going food shopping and try to eat before you go to the grocery store. This will eliminate the temptation to eat foods higher in fat, or drink soda with added empty calories.

Physical tips

Exercise regularly. Cardiovascular exercises will increase your metabolism and help to continue to burn off the excess belly fat. Even performing quick start running in place during television commercials or on your lunch break will help.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night and pay attention to your internal clock. Your body needs the time to renew and refresh itself, as well as repair any damages done to it during the day. Try not to eat after 8pm, but if you must eat, make it light and healthy.

Keep Your Head Up

Thinking positive about your weight loss program and measuring your success, no matter how small. Even if you have a setback, try not to dwell on it and vow to do better. Reward your self with positive reinforcement with anything beside foods. A positive attitude will keep you on track and help you achieve your goal of losing your unsightly belly fat.
